Paraty Islands Boat
Day 139 – Paraty, Brazil
Boat Trip Day! Paraty is actually set in a bay of 55 islands, and with it’s fleet of boats, anyone will take you out for the day! So, following Alpha and Patrick’s lead we decided to go!
Erika Feeds The Fishes!
It was a beautiful day, bright and sunny, and our boat headed out past tree-covered islands, to our firt stop – swimming and snorkelling in the clear water. They threw something (I’m not sure what) into the sea near us and suddenly we were surrounded by a school of fish! Quite cool, but there is something slightly creepy about the feeling of fish against your legs!
The House From The Twilight Breaking Dawn Movie
Back on the boat, and we sailed close to one island where they pointed out a remote and pretty little hotel. I haven’t seen it, but all Twilight fans will be excited to know that it was actually the location for Bella and Edward’s wedding in the latest Twilight movie! Since I am pretty sure Twilight is set in Washington State, I am trying to figure out why on earth they chose Brazil to represent it. Maybe someone else can fill me in! Was the honeymoon somewhere else? Either way, a bit of s surprise to find some hollywood history here!
Cannonball!!!
We had one more deep water stop off for snorkelling (Jon was enjoying himself by cannonballing off the side of the boat) before we made our way to a small beach on one of the islands. It was nice to get off and just park ourselves on the sand for awhile to enjoy the sun and play in the shallows.
With one last beach stop, we headed back as the sun started to set. It was probably one of the most chilled out days we’ve had, and a great chance to relax and enjoy the warm weather. Ahh, isn’t this what travelling is all about?
