Fish River Canyon
Day 202 – Fish River Canyon, Namibia
Today we crossed the border back into Namibia and visited the amazing Fish River Canyon. It’s the largest in Africa, and everyone says, the second largest in the world, after the USA’s Grand Canyon.
We arrived just as the sun was starting to go down, and got to walk along the edge for about a kilometer before coming to a lookout point. The great guys at African Tour Company (ATC) had surprised us with our dinner and some drinks (sundowners) at the lookout point (!) so we had an amazing view for dinner, and then sat drinking rum and coke as the sun set. Absolutely lovely.

We came back to the campsite and I must say, the best bar I think I’ve seen on this whole trip! The owner has collected old cars (junked and in good shape) and put them all over the property and in the bar. It was a tribute to the 1940′s and just so cool! The bar itself was in the center, with licence plates from all over the world, and beer coming out of petrol pumps. Awesome!
